Purchasing a puppy should be a fun experience. The choice of breed and the type of puppy should come from the
heart and fit comfortably into your lifestyle.
You should look for an establishment that has been doing business with a minimum of ten (10) years experience and state licensed with NO
violations. Ask to see the state license if it isn't conspicuously displayed. We have been licensed and in business for over 35 years.
There should be a warranty. Pennsylvania requires that all puppies are sold with AT LEAST a thirty (30) day warranty. This law does not apply to those
sellers that have not been licensed or breed as a hobby. We provide a LIFETIME warranty with your new puppy at NO additional charge.
When you purchase a puppy that has "shots up to date", "shots current" or "first shots", this means your puppy has probably had only one shot. It may have
several ingredients showing (a combination shot), however, it still remains one (1) shot. This not only adds extra vet expenses to your purchase, but it's dangerous to your new puppy.
The "first shot(s)" does not create immunity, it depletes what ever maternal antibodies were still present from the mother. It is not until the next series of shots that your puppy begins
to rebuild that lost immunity. Taking a puppy home without ALL of its baby shots will often lead to illness, loss of your puppy or both. With no warranty, the expenses fall on YOU.
You may have vet bills and NO puppy! We do ALL of the baby shots at no additional cost to you. This places the expense and more importantly the risk of contracting serious diseases such
as Parvo Virus, Hepatitis or Canine Distemper on the seller, not on YOU!
When you and your new puppy are ready to go home you should always have detailed written instructions that pertain to feeding, house training, preventing barking and chewing. You should
have a plan to introduce your new baby to other family members and pets you may already have to develop your puppy's social skills. This will establish puppy rules. Now the puppy is reacting to YOU
as opposed to YOU reacting to the puppy. We give you instructions and a phone number to call if you need help in addition to our website and email.
If your puppy goes home and falls ill with something your vet believes began in the kennel, often you will receive no help from the seller. The first thirty (30) days of our warranty provides
you with help for situations just like this.
As your puppy grows into an adult, it is possible for a problem to be revealed that no one could foresee. Having a two or three year old dog that passes away from a congenital or hereditary problem once
again falls to you. With our lifetime warranty you have protection from something akin to this. Even if your puppy is now a senior citizen (age 10 and over) our warranty is still in force.
Following these steps will usually lead to a positive experience for you and a pet that doesn't become seriously ill, isn't laden with birth defects, learns at a normal pace, trains well and
becomes a well behaved adult full of fun and love that will be a joy for your entire family for years to come.
